Welcome to MPPIX

Snow, ice, and sub zero temperatures

The Specsavers Christmas Stages Rally saw in the New Year with the event running on the 2nd of January 2010 rather than the traditional back end of December. Certainly didn’t stop the huge numbers of rally fans taking on the winter elements to watch some fantastic motorsport action though.

Northallerton Motor Club and numerous volunteers worked so hard to get the event to run and clear as much snow and ice from the Croft Circuit complex, it was easy to see how much time and effort they all put in, and it was greatly appreciated. [Read more...]

Christmas Stages Rally 2010 (the early one)

Yay the first rally of the year is almost here with the Specsavers Christmas Stages Rally based at Croft Circuit.

Really looking forward to this event, traditionally it blows away the last remains of the Christmas turkey, but with a date change it will hopefully clear our any lingering bits of hangover from the New Years Eve party

See you there

Mark

Merry Christmas from all at MPPIX

grizedale-fog

Well, I am back in Berkshire now after a day on the M6, what fun. Was a great weekend as usual though a bit quieter and more sensible than usual, mainly due to drinking less… we’ll say no more.

Saturday was an early start for me and one look out of the window and I instantly knew what sort of day it was going to be, it was chucking it down. Soph didn’t even make it out of the bed before deciding to give it a miss, don’t blame her really…

Anyway, off I went to the usual Moor Top though this time I ended up somewhere completely different and new and worth a visit next year I’d say as I think myself and Mark have exhausted the usual bit. Found myself in a night little sequence of bends and it proved to be alright, shame the weather was so bad – in the end the fog was so thick I couldn’t even see the bloody rally cars – see the pic of Mike Winfield above!! No Grizedale for Mark & Sarah

tamiflu

Sarah and I will be missing this years Grizedale Stages Rally this weekend and also the Neil Howard Memorial Stages next week, thanks to me catching swine flu last week and subsequently getting a nice dose of bronchitis too…. So the decision to stay at home and keep warm seems more practical then spending a day out in the wet (and possibly white) Cumbrian forests…

All eyes on the weather

Well the Grizedale Stages 2009 is almost here and the latest press release from the club points to the rally still running, even though parts of Cumbria are suffering some horrific weather (another four inches is predicted to fall in the highlands today/tomorrow)

The Grizedale Stages has turned into a bit of a traditional “End of Season” party for the MPPIX Team with an annual weekend in Ambleside and usually staggering out of the White Lion!!!

Obviously our thoughts are with all those affected, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on the weather and roads into the area for the next week…

Will update again soon

Roger Albert Clark 2009

Umbrellas at the Roger Albert Clark Rally 2009

Wow, the weekend certainly had it’s highs and low…

Arrived at Pickering showground on Friday afternoon just in time to see Dave Hemingway in scruitineering, met up plenty of familiar faces and had a good old catch up.Went out into service and got some shots of the crews working in the dark – it’s still dry at this point (maybe the weather forecast is wrong?)

New website and way of working for Team MPPIX

Howdy, Ben here… just writing to introduce the brand spanking new MPPIX website. The Gaffer decided he wanted us all to contribute to the blog feature of the old site and this got me thinking, firstly how lazy he is and secondly – let’s make life easy and redesign the whole site incorporating proper blog functionality so we can all do it properly. And here is the result…
